While not a required upgrade, at some point in theįuture only users running version 30.3 with PRP proofs will be assigned first-time primality tests. Version 30.3 is now available with PRP proofs. This breakthrough will nearly double GIMPS' throughput in the long run. The work required to re-run the primality test. Second primality test! The first primality test produces a proof file that can be securely verified with less than 0.5% of Running the exact same primality test on another computer to guard against hardware errors having corrupted the first primality test.Ī breakthrough by Krzysztof Pietrzak makes it possible to eliminate the There is no need to worry about any LL tests that are currently underway.īIG Changes Are Here! Prime95 version 30.3 released.įor almost 25 years, GIMPS has looked for new Mersenne primes by running a primality test on one computer and later The server will continue to accept Lucas-Lehmer results. There is even a chance thatĪ new Mersenne prime is hidden in all those double-checks. GIMPS has a multi-year backlog of double-checks to work through. Will result in necessary double-check work. Users that have not yet upgraded to prime95 version 30.3 or Going forward, the server will no longer make available exponents for first time Lucas-Lehmer tests. It has been a huge success, saving GIMPS tens of One year ago, first-time PRP primality testing with proofs was introduced. This is a significant milestone for the GIMPS project. Thus, M(57885161) officially becomes the 48th Of thousands of GIMPS volunteers, every smaller Mersenne number has been successfully double-checked. Now, thanks to the largely unheralded and dedicated efforts M(57885161) was discovered eight and half years ago.

Temperatures while web browsing aren't bad, I'll install Aida64 & test that tomorrow (or later today), which you were interested in.All exponents below 57 985 273 have been tested and verified.Īll exponents below 105 267 119 have been tested at least once.Īll tests smaller than the 48th Mersenne Prime, M(57885161), have been verified Is a 53degC CPU Package temperature good for a 96W load (taken from my HWInfo Sensor reading pic above)? So, I think that's just the way my 6700K is, but temperatures are pretty darn good now I think. I think the mounting of my CPU cooler (Noctua NH-D14) is ok though, paste looked evenly distributed & consistent thickness when I took it off. I thought the original Intel stock paste job looked alright with good contact though( There is still a large temperature difference between cores, and I was hoping delidding would cure this, because I had been assuming that it was due to uneven pasting/mounting of the IHS on the CPU chip - it looks like that's just the way my 6700K operates: either temperature sensors are skewed on the actual CPU (think I heard that's a thing), or there's some kind of imperfection in the IHS. Temperature after Delid with Liquid Ultra between chip & IHS (1hr Prime 95 v26.6, room temperature 20.5 degC):Īs you can see, I got a 14 degC drop in CPU Package temperature with the delid, and after accounting for room temperature differences that's a 15 degC temperature difference after delidding! Now, I did blow out some dust from the CPU heatsink using a can of compressed air, so that's gonna make a difference too, but not anywhere near 15 degC difference, I've never had temperatures anywhere near as low as this on this PC.

Woohoo, success I believe, my computer did power on with no problems after delid, and temperatures are lower, by a long way.īefore Delid (1hr Prime 95 v26.6, room temperature 19.5 degC):
